This pistol is currently collected in the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. This pistol is a product of the 18th century. It is made of bone, brass, iron, wood and other materials through casting, forging and riveting.

It is an early firearm that originated in 16th century Europe and is the successor to the matchlock gun. By using flint and gunpowder to ignite bullets, they can be fired. The working principle is that when the trigger is pulled, the flint will rub against the gunpowder to produce sparks, igniting the gunpowder loaded in the barrel and pushing the bullet out. Compared to previous matchlock guns, it is more reliable because it does not rely on a continuously burning matchlock to ignite gunpowder, reducing the risk of ignition failure caused by wind or humid weather. The emergence of flintlock guns greatly increased the firepower and range on the battlefield, while also reducing the exposure time of soldiers when loading ammunition.

The flint gun was invented by Mahan, a Frenchman who was born in 1547 (the middle of the 16th century) in the family of a gunsmith, locksmith and watchmaker. It was improved on the basis of the revolver gun. The spring steel wheel was removed, a piece of flint was clamped on the jaw of the hammer, and a striking anvil was set beside the fire hole. When shooting, the trigger was pulled. Under the effect of the spring, the flint was heavily hit on the side of the fire door, and sparks came out to ignite the gunpowder. Greatly simplifies the shooting process, improves firing rate and shooting accuracy, is easy to use and cost-effective, and facilitates mass production. European armies were generally equipped with flintlock guns, which lasted for over 200 years until 1848.
